Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I chose you as my accountant?
I am an experienced accountant who is passionate about helping business owners obtain clarity over their accounts, with my collaborative and supportive approach to their finances. I appreciate that regulations around tax and accounting can at times be complex and daunting, it is my aim to keep it simple, to guide you through what is required so that you can focus on running and growing your business. If I am working with you, I will be your sole contact.
What qualifications do you have?
I am an FCA (Fellow Chartered Accountant), which means I have been a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for over ten years. To maintain my chartered status there is a requirement to constantly keep up to date with regulation changes.
What systems do you work with?
I work with MTD* compliant cloud based solutions, specialising is Xero and QuickBooks.
*MTD = Making Tax Digital a regulation requirement of HMRC whereby digital records must be maintained for specific taxes. This is currently just VAT but will be extended to Income Tax from April 2026.
I don’t have anything in place at the moment for my books and records, can you help?
I can absolutely help you get set up so that moving forwards you have a simple solution that works for your business.
How do you like to work?
I like to work with a combination of calls, emails, virtual meetings, and in person meetings. I think it is important that we build a relationship so I do think there is benefit to meeting in person on occasion. However I appreciate that your time is precious and will work with you in anyway that is practical for us both.
I already have an accountant but would like to use you instead. Is that possible?
It is absolutely possible to move from your current accountant to me. After you have notified your current accountant that you no longer wish to use their services, I can work with them (with your consent) to obtain all the relevant information I need in order to aid a smooth transition.
How do your fees work?
I charge my fees based on the work needed to be undertaken, with step increases based on the size and complexity of the business. In short, the fee will be based on revenue and number of employees / subcontractors the bigger the fee.
